VALLEYS AND ACCESS PATHS TO THE BRENTA GROUP

Amoung the main valleys of access to the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, from East in an anti clockwise direction are:

Valle dello Sporeggio:

from Spormaggiore along the homonymous river, up along path no.302 into the Malga Spora plain between the Pizzo Gallino Massif and the Doss Fibion as far as the ex Malga Cavedago farm and the Malga Spora ( during the summer season it is possible to stay the night or eat something( walking time: c 3,30 hours). ( malga = mountain farm).

Val Cadino

Departure from Lover ( Valle di Non) along the Val Cadino as far as the Malga Campa or (Campodenno), then across the Val Campa as far as the Busa dei Cadinei and the Sella del Montoz (path.338).

Val Goslada

From Sporminore (Valle di Non) along route 337 that leads to the Malga of Sporminore and then across the Val Goslada to the Passo del Re ( or Passo Corona): from here right towards the Sella del Montoz and the Bocchetta di Val Scura as far as the Malga Flavona, or left through the Val dei Cavai towards the Malga Spora.

Val d’Arza

From Termon (Val di Non) along the Scalette down the steep Scalace gorge and then up the Val d’Arza as far as the homonymous Malga d'Arza (path nr 330).

From Cunevo ( Val di Non) along the asphalted road that leads to the Malga d'Arza ( c 11 km from Cunevo).

Valle di Tovel

From Tuenno (Val di Non) along the valle di Tovel. From Lake Tovel it is possible to reach the following refuges: Graffer and Grostè following path no.309 as far as the Pian delle Fontanelle, and then path no. 312 as far as Malga Pozzol, then path no.314 as far as the junction with path no. 301. From here turn right ( North East) as far as the Grostè Pass or else turn left ( East South East) along path no. 301 which leads to the Malga Spora and then to Andalo or Molveno.

Valle di Madris

From the Valle di Madris that ascends from Lake Tovel as far as the Pra Castron Pass along path no. 310 passing by the Bivouac Pinamonti of Malga Tuena (1736 m.) The Bivouac Costanzi-Albasin is located after the Pass.

Val Gelada

From the Val Gelada of Tuenno, a by valley of the Valle Santa Maria Flavona. At c 2 kms from Lake Tovel, on the road to Malga Flavona, on the right in a western direction, the Dena path no. 312 leads up between the Livezza Grande and the Livezza Piccola as far as the upper part of the Val Gelada of Tuenno. From here the path is equipped and after a difficult ascent it leads to the Val Gelada Pass, the Costanzi path interjects South of the Sasso Alto. Going South the path leads to the Bocca dei Tre Sassi from where it is possible to descend to the Malga Mondifrà and to the Campo Carlo Magno Pass entering the Val Gelada of Campiglio from the Val delle Giare, a by valley of the Val Flavona. Close to the Bridge over the River Tresenica (mt 1560) the path which leads to Malga Flavona is substituted by path 334, on the right, which climbs up to Prà Castron of Tuenno and leads to the Val delle Giare and then onto path no. 306 of the Palete, and then path no. 336 (Costanzi) to the Bocca dei Tre Sassi. Path no. 334 leads to Malga Mondifrà after descending the Val Gelada of Campiglio.

From Cles (Val di Non- mt 658) towards the Refuge

Peller (mt 2022) via 17 kms of white road( path 313) that passes along Lake Verde and then onto the Fraine Pass ( mt 1706) – (hrs 4,15 on foot).

From Malè ( Val di Sole- mt 738) along path no. 308 from the Molini hamlet up to the Prà della Selva ( mt 1475) as far as the Malga di Croviana and the Malga di Cles (mt 1899). From here to the Rifugio Peller. Hrs 3, 45 c.

Val di Mezol

From Malé to the Val di Mezol, path no. 374. At Malé across the River Noce to the locality known by the name of Regazzini. The path leads passed a rock climbing wall, the forestry road from Plaz and a large pine forest and then into the Valle di Mezol ( orographical right) and onto the refuge. From here along the carriage road as far as the meadows of the Malga Roi.

Then along the path to the Peller Refuge.

Valle dei Cornai

From Dimaro (Val di Sole - mt 772) Path no. 365 as far as Malga Selva Nera of Carciato ( mt 1515) and then along path no. 365 down the Valle dei Cornai,( Dosso Scrinzi is on the right), as far as Pra Castron and the bivouac Costanzi-Albasi not far from path no. 336 (Costanzi path or the Cresta Settentrionale del Brenta path).

Valle del Vento

Val di Mezol

Veduta su Malga Scale

From Dimaro ( Val di Sole, mt 772), Carciato hamlet, along the Valle del Vento on path no. 329 and for a short time on path no.365. After passing the Dos degli Scrinzi ( from the West) the path leads to the ex Malga Scale. From here eastwards as far as the Bait de l'Oto, and then northwards to Dosso Scrinzi , and then back South not far from the

Acqua dei Tartari (m.1924), ascending the orografphic left of the Val del Vento and approaching the North wall of the Tov peak. The path then turns East along the Val delle Scale leaving the main branch of the Val del Vento on its right,( South). Near the Prà Castron Pass, path 329 intersects path 365 that leads to the Costanzi-Albasini Bivouac.

Val dei Cavai

From Dimaro ( Val di Sole - m772), the hamlet of Carciato, path no. 335 leads to " La Gnoca" and enters Val dei Cavai as far as the Ex Malga Cavalli (mt 2061). From here path no. 308 leads northwards as far as the Fontane Fredde and then East along the edge of the Palon as far as Lake Salare mt 2012 and then up to the Forcola Pass ( m.2105) . Close to the Pass is path no. 336 (Costanzi) which leads North East to the East of Monte Pellerot and then onto the Malga Tassulla ( Bivacco Pinamonti) and then the Peller Refuge.

From the Val Meledrio – near the Genziana Restaurant, path no. 355 leads North East towards the Malga Scale. From here onto path no.329 down the Valle del Vento as far as the Prà Castron Pass (mt 2503) and to the junction of the Bivacco Costanzi (mt 2365 sent.365).

Val Gelada di Campiglio

From the Campo Carlo Magno Pass – mt 1681 along path 334 towards Malga Mondifrà . From here up along the Val Gelada di Campiglio as far as the Bocchetta dei tre Sassi ( mt 2614). And then down the Valle delle Giare as far as the carriage road that comes from the malga Pozzol which leads to Lake Tovel ( sent. 314).

From the Campo Carlo Magno Pass– mt 1681 to the Graffer Refuge (mt 2261) hrs. 2, path no. 315 to the Stoppani al Grostè Refuge ( mt 2438, during the tourist season there is a cabin lift service). From here various routes bring to :

a) the Peller Refuge via the Sentiero delle Palete (path no. 306, hr. 7) ;

b) to the Peller Refuge following the Costanzi path (no. 336 – hr. 10c),

c) to the Malga Spora ( path 301 – hr. 3) and then Andalo and Molveno ( hr. 5,30);

d) to Lake Tovel along the previous path as far as the junction with path 314, from here left towards the Malga Flavona – Malga Pozzol- Pian delle Fontanelle;

e) to Molveno along path 301 as far as the above mentioned junction and from here right ( Monte Turrion Alto is on the right) as far as the Bocca Vallazza at 2410 mt and then down into

he Busa dell’ Acqua and down as far as the Croz dell’ Altissimo Refuge ( mt 1430). From here it takes about one hour to reach Molveno;

f) to the Tuckett and Sella Refuge along path 316 ( easy walk – hr. 1,30);

g) to the Tuckett Refuge along the Alfredo Benini equipped path - hrs. 4 . The path leads around the Cima Grostè and then climbs up between the peaks of the Campanile dei Camosci, Cima Falkner, Campanile di Vallesinella , Cima Sella, Bocca del Tuckett. From here a 30 minutes hike to the Tuckett Refuge. In alternative, path 322 leads South East to the Croz Dell-Altissimo Refuge and then down to Molveno, or, from the bottom of the

Bocca del Tuckett towards the South East, along path 303 to the Pedrotti Refuge along the via Osvaldo Orsi (hrs 3- 3,30 from the Bocca del Tuckett).

From Madonna di Campiglio (Val Rendena - mt 1551) towards the Capanna Spinale Refuge ( reachable by cabin lift) , on foot along path 384 or 385 and then 352 as far as Lake Spinale and then path no. 315 as far as the Graffer Refuge.

Valle Vallesinella

From Madonna di Campiglio (mt 1551) for the Valle Vallesinella towards the Vallesinella di Sotto Refuge, mt 1514, ( path or road 375 ), from here to the Casinei Refuge along path no. 317 and then to the Tuckett Refuge ( metres 2272 , hrs. 1,45 – 2).

Val Brenta

From Madonna di Campiglio (mt 1551) follow the previous route as far as the Casinei Refuge and then up along the Bogani path (318) along the Val Brenta Alta as far as the Alberto e Maria ai Brentei Refuge ( mt 2182- hrs. 2).

From S. Antonio di Mavignola ( Val Rendena) along the Val Brenta ( path 323) to the baito Brenta Alta as far as the junction with path no.391 that comes from the Casinei Refuge. This path leads to the Malga Mandron and then onto the Brentei Refuge in less than 4 hours.

Val D’Agola - Val di

Pian Nardis e Presanella

Nardis

From S. Antonio di Mavignola ( Val Rendena) through the Val D’Agola. Follow the road to Lake d’Agola, mt 1595, (c. 9 km), and then route 324 as far as the junction with path 307 which comes from the Bregn de L’ors. Then up through the Val di Nardis as far as the Dodici Apostoli Refuge. ( 3 hrs. C. from Lake d’Agola).

Val Flanginech

From Giustino ( Val Rendena, mt 770) to the XII Apostoli Refuge . Along route 307 across the peak which delimits the Val Flanginech in the North going beyond Mezzana ( m.1328) as far as Malga Bregn de L’Ors ( mt 1630). The Sentiero Tartarotti (307 bis) arrives here from the Prà Rodont ( Pinzolo cabin lift). Then onto the homonymous pass (mt 1836) and then the Baita Cacciatori

Stenico. From here along the Pala dei Mughi as far as the beginning of the Val D’Agola and then onto the Piana di Nardis, the massifs of the Tof Rondolan, the terrace of the Scala Santa and the terraced foot holds of the Creper di Nardis as far as the refuge ( mt 2489- hrs 5 c.).

From Pinzolo - Doss del Sabion (Val Rendena) – The arrival of the cabin lift from Pinzolo.

Descend route 357 as far as the Bregn de L’Ors Pass (mt 1836) and then take path 307 which leads to the Dodici Apostoli Refuge. ( 3 hrs c.).

Val D’Algone

From the Val D’Algone (Stenico-Val Giudicarie) as far as the Ghedina Refuge and the Malga Nambi: from here take path 341b on the right ( which later on becomes path 341) and then up through the Val di Sacco passed the XII Apostoli Pass (mt 2620) and then to the homonymous refuge. In alternative, one could go to the Malga Movlina ( mt 1746) , and then follow path 354 to the Bregn de L’Ors Pass and from here along path 307 as far as the refuge. The Val d’Algone can be reached via the provincial road that connects Stenico to Ragoli – Preore. The Malga Movlina can be reached by car once in possession of the special permit for the stretch of road after the Ghedina Refuge. ( The day permit can be purchased in loco at the slot machine at the side of the road. Please note that only 40 cars can pass a day). Not far from the Ghedina Refuge, near the Malga Vallon (m.1210), path 359 leads up the Vallon and brings to the Busa Fonda: from here it climbs along the slope of the Cima Vallon in the West and the Corno di Senaso in the East and then crosses the Busa di Vallon inferiore.

The path continues to ascend between the Tose and the Cima Padaiola and then

arrives at the Busa di Vallon Superiore and finally at the Vallon Pass. From here it passes the hanging glaciers of the Dodici Apostoli and then unites with path 341 that ascends from the Val di Sacco. (Caution: after the Busa Fonda the path becomes less clear and it is easy to lose oneself) ***Path 359, that goes up the Vallon no longer appears in the Cai-Sat land registry office because the territory over which it passes has been declared an integral reserve. For this reason it should only be used in case of emergency.

From Massimeno ( Val Rendena, mt 861) Path 354 brings to the Malga Movlina and then path 307 leads to the 12 Apostoli Refuge.

From Seo ( a hamlet of Stenico-Val Giudicarie – mt 832) one can reach the refuge Al Cacciatore

Val d'Angol

Path 348 passes through the Val d'Angol to the slopes of the Monte Brugnoli and of the Monte Pizzo and then through the ex Malga

Valandro and proceeds towards the Malga Sgorbia ( mt 2006), the Malga Asbelz ( mt 1956), the Colmalta Pass, the Malga Senaso di sopra and then finally the Cacciatore Refuge ( mt 1820).

From the Cacciatori Refuge it is possible to climb up to the Silvio Agostini Refuge at 2410 mts. However, this route is recommended only to experienced climbers.

Val Laone

From Stenico ( Val Giudicarie) along path 346 ( route Garda-Brenta): In the East: Val Laone, il Capitel della Spina and L'arca di Fraporte . Passed the Val Gelada and a bit over the Salti, the path intersects path 348 from Seo (see previous route).

Val di Jon

From San Lorenzo in Banale ( Ponte di Baesa) along route 349. Through the Val di Jon as far as the Malga d'Asbelz at the intersection with path 348.

Valle di Ambiez

From the Valle di Ambiez from the Senaso hamlet of San Lorenzo in Banale ( mt 750). The carriage road brings to the Dolomiti Refuge at Baesa ( c.3 Kms). Then along the mule track (path 325) which coasts the river Ambiez , across the Scale Bridge, the Broca Bridge and finally the Paride Bridge and onto the Cacciatore Refuge. From here a 90 minute hike will lead to the Agostini Refuge . (mt 2410, from San Lorenzo hrs 4,30 c.).

Val Dorè

From San Lorenzo in Banale along the Val Dorè and the Val di San Lorenzo as far as the Rossati and the Forcolotta di Noghera - route 345 from Bar Erica and the Alpenrose Refuge passing through La Rì and the Prada meadows. Path 320 ( sentiero Palmieri) is situated near the Forcolotta and this path connects the Agostini Refuge to the Pedrotti Refuge. (Turn left along path 320 for the Agostini Refuge).

Valle di Ceda

From Molveno , mt 864, ( the village closest to the highest and most important peaks of the Dolomites of Brenta) along the Valle di Ceda as far as the Pozza Tramontana and then the Pedrotti Refuge ( path marker no. 326), hrs. 4,30 – 5.

Valle delle Seghe

From Molveno along the Valle delle Seghe (path 319) as far as the Selvata Refuge( mt 1630) and then up to the top of the Valle dei Massodi as far as the Pedrotti Refuge ( hr 4,30 c).

From Molveno up through the Valle delle Seghe as far as the Croz Altissimo Refuge and then the Tuckett Refuge along the Val Perse following route 322. (hrs. 5-5,30).

Da Molveno passando per il Rifugio Croz Altissimo e aggirando l’omonima cima sino al Passo Clamer ( mt 2144) e scendendo alla Malga Spora . (sentiero 344, ore 4 da Molveno).

Da Molveno verso il Lago di Tovel – Passo Grostè salendo lungo la Valle delle Seghe sino alla Busa dell’ Acqua ( sent 322): si devia verso destra verso la ripida Bocca Vallazza ( mt 2410)

imboccando il sent. 314 che va a confluire dopo le Crosette nel sentiero 301 che congiunge la Malga Spora al Rifugio Grostè. ( ore 5 – 5,30).

Altipiano di Pradel

Dall'Altipiano di Pradel (mt 1320) che si raggiunge in cabinovia da Molveno ( funziona da fine maggio a inizio ottobre ) o per strada da Andalo ( necessario il permesso) o per sentiero nr 352 sempre da Molveno. Da Pradel si possono raggiungere i seguenti rifugi : Croz Altissimo , Selvata, Pedrotti, Tuckett lungo il

sentiero 340 in direzione Rifugio Croz Altissimo.

Da Andalo ( Altopiano della Paganella) attraverso la Selva Piana lungo l’itinerario 301 si giunge alla ex malga Cavedago (vedi itinerario che parte da Spormaggiore).

Val Biole

Sempre da Andalo lungo il sentiero 353 che passa dalla Malga Dagnola e nei pressi del Passo omonimo si congiunge con il sent. 352. Ancora da Andalo in

direzione Val Biole, sino all'omonimo parcheggio, mt 1183, da dove partono gli itinerari per l'Altopiano di Pradel, per il Pizzo Gallino e per il Gruppo Lasteri-Croz AltissimoDa Andalo lungo il sent. 301 sino a Malga Spora, ore 2,5 circa
