Molveno is situated at 864m above sea level, between the Brenta Dolomites and the Paganella-Gazza Massif. Together with Andalo, Molveno is at the crossroads between Val di Non and Val Giudicarie. Within a distance of just 13km along state road 421, it is possible to visit several nice villages. Along paths in the woods and mountains, it is possible to reach these same villages either on foot, bike or horse. East of Molveno, at 4km, there is Andalo (1042m asl). This village, situated in a wide green valley, was originally composed of 14 homesteads, still visible today. Mount Paganella is studded with several ski-lifts and ski-slopes. In addition, there are top-quality sports facilities, including indoor swimming-pool and ice-skating. 13km from Molveno, on a panoramic plateau is Fai della Paganella (958m asl). It rests at the foot of Monte Fausior and Paganella. It looks over the Adige valley. Worth-visiting is the archaeological site at Doss Castel (remains of a Rhaetian village).

10km from Molveno, towards Mezzolombardo, there is Cavedago (864m asl), a typical mountain village with an interesting cemetery and cemetery-church dating from the 14th century.

Going on the same direction,.....one finds Spormaggiore (565m asl), a pleasant village looking over Val di Non. Worth-visiting are the Bears’ Park, the Fauna Museum and the ruins of Castel Belfort.

Going now south-west, 10km from Molveno there is San Lorenzo in Banale (805m asl), subdivided into different picturesque hamlets (the ancient seven villas). From San Lorenzo, along Valle d’Ambiez, it is possible to reach the Agostini hut.

On the way to Arche, there are the nice villages of Dorsino, Andogno, Tavodo, Villa Banale and, a bit off the road, Stenico, Seo and Sclemo. At Stenico it is worth visiting Castel Stenico, home of Prince Bernardo Clesio and now hosting the Museum of Art.
