Places to visit at Molveno
Church of S.Virgilio
The church of S. Vigilio was built in the 13th century and has recently undergone a preservative restoration . On the external front wall there is a Roman portal with a series of frescoes on its upper section. Inside, two churches co-exist : one in Roman style ( 13th century) and the other in Gothic style ( 1536). Another important feature of this church is the richly painted apse, On the north wall (left of the entrance), a fresco portrays the “Last Supper” and on the opposite wall a series of
frescoes portrays S.Rocca, S. Antonio with Angel and the Three Saints.

Venetian Sawmill
The sawmill was built in c.1500 by the inhabitants of Molveno, under the directions of the then parish priest; Father Taialacqua. His intent was to better the communities living conditions. It is a rectangular building with two floors. On the top floor, where the wood was cut, are the frame work and the cart. On the ground floor the transmission organs and the sawdust deposit. The mill is water powered and produced 6 to 10 mm planks called “Molvene” which were delivered to the Padana Plain and used for packaging.
Forts of Napoleon
These forts ( beginning of 19th century) ,were actually built by the Austrian troops to ctop the Napoleonic soldiers advancing! They are situated on the Doss del Corno in a predominant position over lake Molveno. The trenches on the “marsch path” ( path n° 644 in the direction of the S.Giovanni Pass.
Capital of the 3 Saints and the capital of S. Antonio
The latter was erected by the Donini family ( end of 19th century) in thanks after their mill escaped the fury of a devastating land slide.
Molin dei Mori (mill)
The ruins of this mill can be found going up stream along the river Massò. While here visit the waterfalls and the rapids.
Palazzo Saracini
This historic house was built in the 17th century and was the residence of the hononymous counts. It is, nowadays, home to the parish priest.
